Castle of Saint-Ouen
Contemporary Getaway in an Historical House
Elodie Boutry is everywhere. While her works are shown at the Elysées Mermoz, she takes part in another retrospective at the Castle of Saint-Ouen, until December 17th . The opportunity to discover 4 other young artists, selected by Frédérique Lucien, juror of the Prix de Saint-Ouen, where she owns her workshop. For this event she has got free hand, an interesting experience for an artist.

After having followed their works for several years, Frédérique Lucien gathered these artists together in an historical space (a 19th century castle) to confront their works, make them talk to each other and to space. They all carry out a reflection on space in their daily lives as artists. These works take up the space, and give rise to constraints that lead to a rediscovery of the place for the visitor.

The painting comes out of its frame, deploys, just like the thermoformed plastic checkerboard by Sebastian Nicolini, which is modeled on the tiled floor of the castle, or the two columns adorned with new growths realized by Nicolas Guiet. Elodie Boutry pursues her research related to visual objects in three dimensions. An exhibition not to be missed…
